Pacific Coast Sport Fishing – Del Mar

Pacific Coast Sportfishing is the largest fishing show on the West Coast, drawing thousands of anglers, boaters, and fishing enthusiasts to Southern California every year. This was the first time the show came to San Diego, set up across the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and it delivered. Four buildings and three outdoor areas filled with gear, demos, and activity; dog diving, trout fishing, and presentations from sea captains, fishing experts, and gear manufacturers throughout the weekend. For Silent North, it was a big stage.

Our booth landed right next to SD Tackle Traders, one of San Diego's largest fishing tackle stores and, as we quickly found out, a genuinely great group of people. They're known for running some of their biggest sales during the show, which brought a steady stream of people through that corner of the floor. Good neighbors to have.

Since this is a coastal-focused show, we built our lineup around that. The Camp Cast was a natural fit; its catamaran hull gives it a level of stability that's hard to match for inshore cruising. We also brought the Malolo Pro and Malolo Light, which drew a lot of curious looks. The Malolo is a hybrid that shifts between a paddle board and a kayak fishing setup, and people wanted to understand how that actually works. That curiosity kept the booth busy all weekend.

Over the course of the weekend we had some genuinely good conversations; with everyday anglers, industry people, and everyone in between. People came with ideas we hadn't thought about, color suggestions, new use cases like using the boat as a tender or dinghy, and content ideas we're still thinking about. It's the kind of feedback you can't get anywhere else. The response to the products was real; people weren't just being polite, they were engaged, asking questions, and spending time with the boats.

We also ran a show-exclusive coupon code for the weekend and it got a strong reception. A lot of people took advantage of it, which was a good way to close out the show.

If you stopped by the booth, thank you. The show was a great reminder of why we do events like this; the conversations, the feedback, and the energy from the fishing community mean a lot to us. Hope to see you on the water.
